The Man returned at WrestleMania 41 to global fanfare to team with Valkyria and defeat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Title. Shortly after, however, it was revealed that Lynch was the one who injured Bayley and took her out of the match, allowing herself to replace her.
Once Lynch and Valkyria lost the title back to Morgan and Rodriguez the following night on Raw, The Man launched a vicious attack on her protege. Valkyria retained the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Lynch at WWE Backlash, but Lynch defeated Valkyria to win the title at WWE Money in the Bank.
Shortly after, Bayley made her earth-shattering return, setting the stage for an incredible Triple Threat Match at the historic show.
